Yesteryear Collection

In the fields and forests of the United Kingdom, pheasant hunting has been a favoutite activity of outdoorsmen for centuries. The hunter usually brings along his trusty companion, a skilled hunting dog, who flushes the beautiful bird from the dense brush. And he often makes his way from civilization into the wilderness in the ultimate off-road vehicle - the British made Land Rover.

The first street-worthy Land Rover was introduced in 1948.The land Rover was an immediate success, particularly in the export market, and it soon surpassed Rover's other lines. The 1948 Land Rover had a 1595 cc four-cylinder engine that provided 50 horsepower @ 4,000 rpm. It had permanent four-wheel drive and an 80-inch wheelbase.

Now, the legendary Land Rover Series 1 original is recreated in an authentic die-cast replica that captures the distinctive and rugged character of the original. It is decorated with an Irish setter and pheasant for the "U.K. Pheasant Club." This model is intricately crafted with a dog in the back, an open cooler with bottles inside and a hunting jacket. It is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
